Join our group of road, triathlon, gravel, mountain and/or fat bike racers. The rides they choose are typically race training, fast, and require good group riding skills, including close drafting and echelons. Riders must be able to fend for themselves on directions and bike repair.
There is still no requirement to purchase a club jersey (~$90), shorts or jacket, unless you are a USAC race team member**. However being a ‘jersey wearer’ entitles you to Chilkoot Cyclery’s 20% club discount.
** USAC Rule Book: “Licensed riders must register with a club and USA Cycling before they are eligible to present themselves as a member of that club. This includes, but is not limited to wearing a club’s jersey or entering a race as a member of the club.”
STANDING WEEKLY RIDES
These rides start at the beginning of May and run weekly through the end of September. Morning rides begin and end at the Chilkoot Cafe & Cyclery (826 4th St S, Stillwater, MN 55082). Please come 10-15 minutes ahead of time to be prepared to ride at scheduled times.
THURSDAY RACE TEAM GROUP TRAINING RIDES
These rides are for the racing enthusiasts. These rides begin at 5:45 PM on Thursday evenings and are approximately 40 miles long averaging at 18 mph or greater. This ride is intended to help racer train as a group.
SATURDAY GROUP RIDES
These rides are for all members. Depending on your capabilities, skill level, and willingness, you will join either Group A, B, C, or D on Saturdays. Groups vary by speed, distance, & ability. Ride routes are different depending on the group too.
Group A: > 45 miles @ > 18 mph (Typically Race Riders)
Group B: 25 - 45 miles @ 16 - 18 mph
Group C: 15 - 25 miles @ 14 - 16 mph
Group D: < 15 miles @ < 14 mph
